What are the most common gynaecological investigations?

Most female diseases concern the genital tract. After the onset of sexual life, gynecological investigations should be done routinely. In this way, you prevent serious diseases.

The gynecological consultation should be done annually, even in the absence of any symptoms.

The Pap test (PAP) is done to screen for cervical changes. It doesn’t hurt, it’s quick and the most important test for cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer (cervical cancer).

Vaginal discharge examination
• is collected when changes in vaginal secretions occur;
• it is done routinely because genital infections do not hurt, but they change the fallopian tubes and cause infertility.

Transvaginal ultrasound is an ultrasound examination of the genital tract. It is the most widely used imaging method for investigating disorders of the female genital organs: uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes.

Breast screening involves breast evaluation to detect breast disorders early. It is completed with breast ultrasound or mammography.
